Leadership???

Found this an interesting article, maybe you will too. Obama "knows how to push...but doesn't know how to lead" - I believe that hits the nail on the head.

A Presidential Learning Moment
President Obama continues to act like the powerless community organizer he once was. He knows how to push. That's what community organizers do. But he doesn't know how to lead. And leadership is the one essential skill required to govern effectively.
[...]
Obama's community organizing tactics are beginning to wear thin with a majority of the American public, whatever their partisan persuasions. Some, who still feel warm toward him as a person, are growing cold to his leadership style.

Lieberman Tells Administration to Slow Down!

The famous independent (democrat in reality) is telling Obama needs to slow down…hmm!

From NYT
"I'm afraid we've got to think about putting a lot of that off until the economy's out of recession," Mr. Lieberman said on CNN's "State of the Union." "There's no reason we have to do it all now, but we do have to get started. And I think the place to start is cost health delivery reform and insurance market reforms."

Acorn = Corrupt Obama

Wasn't dear leader associated with Acorn? Does this fall under the dem's term "culture of corruption" and where is the MSM (media) with their "guild by association" stories...oh that's right both only reserve that for those evil republicans or anyone who's opinion differs from theirs.

ACORN Director Pleads Guilty | Politics & Economics

Facts - If you are Interested

This article checks several Whitehouse claims - I have just put one below, so if interested follow the link...

Fact Check
The first claim is that “Medicare has controlled cost growth better than private-sector health plans.” The reality is that “when payments from all sources are considered, spending on Medicare beneficiaries is increasing faster than spending on the privately insured.” The amount Medicare spends per beneficiary is growing slowly, but Medicare is paying a shrinking share of its beneficiaries’ total health costs. The total amount spent on health care for individuals enrolled in Medicare is actually growing faster than the amount spent on individuals in private insurance.

Something to Think About - Government

Good quick read of for the AM - May give you something to think about.

Ten Questions about Freedom, Virtue, and the Role of Government
Today's political debates are often muddied by misconceptions of the role of government and its responsibility to American citizens. What are the limits of good government? How can the virtues necessary for freedom flourish? Sustaining ordered liberty depends on good answers to these questions.

Cowardly Boldness

White House Vows to Defend Democrats on Health Reform, Will 'Punch Back Twice as Hard' - Political News - FOXNews.com
WASHINGTON -- Top White House officials counseled Democratic senators Thursday on coping with disruptions at public events on health care this summer, officials said, and promised the party and allies would respond with twice the force if any individual lawmaker is criticized in television advertising.

From a coward
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity, saying they were not authorized to discuss details of the closed-door session

Is/Was Privacy a Real Concern

REMEMBER, when democrats across the country, those in office and "common" citizens, were so out raged at the report the Government was "listening to our phone calls" - "Warrant-less Wiretaps"? Though exaggerated and proven both not to include domestic calls and be legal (by the court during the current administration), they screamed "big brother" and "privacy issues".

Well let's fast forward to ObamaCare - So am I to understand that though we don't want anyone hearing our conversations with Mom and Dad or the wife, that would be an infringement on our rights, but the government knowing everything about our medical history should be common practice? In fact, good that they want to care so much - RIDICULOUS!

ATTENTION "leftwing nuts" - I guess this new request, to turn in your friends and family for speaking out against the state is a good thing too...
White House Draws Fire for Requesting 'Fishy’ Information From Supporters on Health Reform
The White House is under fire for a blog post asking supporters to send "fishy" information received through rumors, chain e-mails and casual conversations to a White House e-mail address, flag@whitehouse.gov.

Oh my, I haven't even hit the "post button" yet and I believe I hear the "thought police" pulling in my driveway!

Fariness Doctrine...

Well Hugo Chavez, like US democrats, believes in the fairness doctrine. Wonder how long it will be before Obama followed Chavez's lead?

Hugo Chavez Pulls 34 Radio Stations Off the Air
Chavez said Saturday that he approved the telecommunications agency's decision to shut down radio stations ruled to be operating illegally.

"We're applauding Diosdado for the decision he has made to take back these stations for the people," Chavez said, referring to agency chief Diosdado Cabello.

Medal of Honor???

I am going to have to do some more thinking on the story below - The Medal of Honor, the highest award a military member can receive, is a great honor! I cannot put into words what it "stands for" to an active or past member of our military. Some reasons for the high level of respect is because it is not given easily, or lightly, and politics has relatively been left out of the awards process...

If we just look at WWII, 464 medals were given - a quick look puts the military deaths for WWII around 416,800 (this is higher or lower depending on source)...meaning the Medal(s) of Honor awarded were just over 1% of the miltiary deaths.

We see there have been 4,000 death and 6 medals awarded...just over 1% - The numbers tell me they need not, should not, change a thing. Whatever is done or not done the honor can/must not be diminished, neither for future recipients or past...and if politics becomes the primary factor I fear this is inevitable. If I had to give an opinion today I would say - LET the process ALONE and RESPECT the traditions of the past!

Some Say Pentagon Not Awarding Enough Medals of Honor for Iraq
Eight years of war in Afghanistan and Iraq. About 4,000 members of the U.S. military killed in action. More than 34,000 wounded. Just six considered worthy of America's highest military award for battlefield valor.

For some veterans and members of Congress, that last number doesn't add up.

They question how so few Medals of Honor -- all awarded posthumously -- could be bestowed for wars of such magnitude and duration

How Much More can They Handle

These are scary numbers - How much more than the "rich" afford, and what will this do to "incentive and drive to better oneself"? How long till the "number" defining "the rich" comes down?

How Much More Can We Redistribute: IRS Releases New Data » The Foundry
According to the IRS, the top 1 percent of taxpayers paid over 40 percent of all federal income taxes in 2007. That is a higher share than the bottom 95 percent of taxpayers combined! They paid just over 39 percent.
[...}
In contrast, the bottom 40% of taxpayers pays no income taxes on average. In fact, they get money from the tax code well above anything they paid in because of refundable credits. And President Obama’s Make Work Pay credit, passed as part of the stimulus, will increase the money redistributed to these non-taxpayers.

...and for those that believe my first link is a "right wing ....", here is the IRS site, do the numbers yourself! If your taxpayer paid public education feel a little short - As a liberal elite, you know some unfortunate sole who was mistreated like Barack and Michelle, but still received an education worth a quarter of a million dollars are more.

Taxes, where to They Go?

Found this rather interesting...

How Washington Is Spending Your Taxes in 2009 - Printer friendly page
Washington will spend $33,880 per household in 2009 - the highest level in American history (adjusted for inflation), and nearly $8,000 per household more than last year.

The federal government will collect $18,277 per household in taxes. The remaining $15,603 represents this year's staggering budget deficit per household, which, along with all prior government debt, will be dumped in the laps of our children.

Please "dear leader" Save Us

Not straying form the liberal notion, only the government can save _____ ! Dan ask the government to save the media!

Dan Rather wants Obama to help save the news
“I personally encourage the president to establish a White House commission on public media,” the legendary newsman said.

Such a commission on media reform, Rather said, ought to make recommendations on saving journalism jobs and creating new business models to keep news organizations alive.

Here is a plan Dan - "The Media" runs the media like a business and gives their consumers what they want, stop treating their readers like idiots, and stop force feeding YOUR OPINIONS - simply REPORT the NEWS... Oh hey, Dan the really important part, report the news HONESTLY, as hard as that may be!

But on second thought, they government stepping in (or Obama steeping) to run the media does remove all pretense of "honest reporting" - After all, the MSM has sold out to liberals, democrats, and Obama lock stock and barrel!

Promises, promises, promise....LIE

How can a man, our president, make promises about something he knows nothing about - Worse, how can the main stream media not call him on it. Folks, the media ain't there for the public and hasn't been for quite some time!

Obama Admits He’s “Not Familiar” With House Bill
President Obama replied: “You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.” (quote begins at 17:10)

This is a truly disturbing admission by the President, especially considering that later in the call, Obama promises yet again: “If you have health insurance, and you like it, and you have a doctor that you like, then you can keep it. Period.”

Brilliant...simply Brilliant - NOT!

The below comment just oozes brilliance doesn't it - Spend more, "more than you have obviously" to keep from going broke...and we wonder why Americans live on credit and beyond their means.Joe Biden: ‘We Have to Go Spend Money to Keep From Going Bankrupt’

“Now, people when I say that look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about, Joe? You’re telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?’” Biden said. “The answer is yes, that's what I’m telling you.”

...by the way, I am believe I am going to share this quote with my management team today and ask for a raise. "Give me a raise, because if we don't spend more money we will go bankrupt and I want to do everything I can for the company!"

The Promises are Falling Apart?

Can the Obama loving and protecting media actually being turning against their beloved leader?

AP News: PROMISES, PROMISES: Obama tax pledge unrealistic
