Don't Call Me Stupid

Suzanne Fields has some good advise for Democrats if they really want to sway opinion and even better the vote - the should not have the attitude "everybody who disagrees with us is dumb".... Here are some snippets:
All kinds of reasons figure into conversions, political and otherwise, but two considerations are paramount in the reasoning of Democrats who became Republicans. Democrats had become soft on defense, and they typically scorn the notions of right and wrong firmly held by the rank and file of the red states - and of a lot of the rank and file in the blue states.

Sneering that George W. is dumb no doubt makes the Democratic elites feel good, but if George W. is dumb, anyone who votes for him is by definition "dumber." An odd tribute to the voters they must persuade. This contempt was perfectly captured in the remark of John Kerry, overheard by a reporter for Newsweek: "I can't believe I'm losing to this idiot."

The corollary of this notion that "everybody who disagrees with us is dumb" is the sneer at anyone who takes religious faith seriously. This category includes a considerable majority of Americans, just those voters the Democrats will have to recruit to win elections again. (Read here)

Do You Think They Get It

Simply and update to I Hope They Get It, more Muslims are targeted by their Muslim brothers (Story here). Lately they (the inhuman terrorist) are targeting more Muslim (Iraqi) military members then US or at least seem to be having more success, gee maybe that is it - You think they (the inhuman terrorist) understand the media's "If it bleeds it leads" mentality? So they (the inhuman terrorist) are killing who and as many as they can!

To my point - these terrorist are attempting to control their own people... Demonstrating the Iraqi people's need for freedom, more than America ever could; the need to live free from fear of saying, supporting, or doing the wrong thing! Amazingly, the detractors use these terrorist attacks as a reason to get out of Iraq - I look at them as one of the main reasons to finish the job!

Al-Jazeera Cohots With Saddam

I am not sure this story is a big surprise to anyone - I am waiting for the smoking gun that Al Jazeera are in league with Al Qaeda. Did anyone doubt this or doubt that they do not support the US? Just the fact that they are the major news source for those in the press that hate President Bush should have been enough proof.... Nevertheless, here are several stories about the Saddam-Al Jazeera connection.

I Hope They Get It

On the internet I am seeing how liberals turn stories like this one in to somehow being America's fault - I really don't get it. Yes we are at war with the "insurgence", or like I call them terriost, but how can you blame us for Muslims killing Muslims; it doesn't make since. I hope the Iraq people get it.

These people (if you wish to call the things that) are attempting to control by terrorizing their own - does this mean the our (President Bush and supporting countries) resolve has finally demonstrated we will not be terrorized - if so for me this is a Great Victory! However, the New York Times, DNC, and the liberal minions will not see it that way - I had a liberal tell me "the only way to support the troops is to immediately pull them out" - besides being wrong for the country, obviously this individual had never been in combat; no solider wants to be pulled out and his/her military era to be viewed as a loss. Ask the Vietnam veterans about that! They won the battles but the civilians won the war, by putting enough pressure on government not to allow the military to win the Vietnam war - go ahead ask them how they feel about that! Let's not do that to yet another generation!

Happy New Year

Well with the holidays I was tied up and could not blog as much as I would like - house guest, schedule, etc.. I am back and will get back to my usual daily post... I hope all of you had a good New Year and a great 2005!

United States Branches of Goverment

Ever wonder why God was so prominently mentioned in all branch of our government by the founding fathers? Maybe they have read Isaiah 33.22 "For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us"? I think this is a very big probability; and the reason American thrived is that all branches remembered the Lord was first!

The Lord is our judge, (judicial branch)
The Lord is our lawgiver, (legislative branch)
The Lord is our king, (executive branch)
He will save us.

Fake Friends

Frank J. Gaffney, Jr. has an interesting article of how France is once again working against us - this time by arming China.
The latest example is Mr. Chirac's determination to have French and other European weapons manufacturers arm Communist China as part of what he has called "a necessary rebalancing of the 'grand triangle' formed by America, Europe and Asia." (Read more)

Christmas Revival

Audrey Hudson of the Washington Times has a nice take on the "tug of war between political correctness and Christmas". Some snippets:
"Those who are so opposed to [Christmas] feel that the tide is turning now, once again, against them," Cardinal McCarrick said. "I think that might be because those who are so opposed to it feel that they're caught in a corner.
"I believe there is a real revival of religion in our country, not just of Christianity, not just of the traditional religions, but of people who really believe in God and may not be able to express it in the words of present-day religion," the Catholic cleric told "Fox News Sunday."
[...]
Lynne Cheney, wife of Vice President Dick Cheney, was asked during her own appearance on Fox about the political correctness of banning Christmas trees and depictions of the Nativity.
Mrs. Cheney said it began with an honest effort by Americans to be polite and considerate and say "season's greetings" or "happy holidays" because those they greet might not celebrate Christmas.
"But in our effort to be nice ... we let the pendulum swing too far," Mrs. Cheney said. "It is one thing to be sure to be inclusive. It's another thing entirely to exclude Christmas."

Two More Al Qaeda Leaders

The U. S. Military captured Two Al Qaeda leaders. The two men lead cells that "kidnapped and executed 11 Iraqi national guardsmen, carried out car bombings and other attacks in the Ramadi area and "smuggled foreign terrorists into the country". This is progress. I found the report in a conservative publication - this information was not immediately available in the New York Times; go figure!

Is The Whole World Against Us?

If you believe what you read you will discover that most of the world is against us - is this the case or are many simply upset over Iraq? I have my own opinion about why many are upset about Iraq - since it was the cash cow for many country's politician and bankers.

But, it appears the US has support for some of it's War on Terror worldwide initiatives. This story highlights one such initiative that is supported by the world's governments. In addition, these actions have had some success and to my surprise, I don't really remember much being said about it. Some excerpts:
More than 60 nations -- including Russia and France, two key opponents of the Bush administration's policy toward Iraq -- are supporting the 19-month-old Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI). The global effort to halt arms proliferation has also gained favor from the United Nations.
[...]
The one action made public was the Oct. 4, 2003, seizure of the German-flagged ship BBC China that was on its way to Libya with equipment for Moammar Gadhafi's covert nuclear-arms program.

A U.S. warship forced the ship to divert to Italy. On board, investigators found containers of uranium-enrichment equipment. That discovery led to the unraveling of the covert nuclear supplier network headed by Pakistani Abdul Qadeer Khan that stretched from Germany to South Africa to Malaysia.

The network had supplied nuclear-weapons materials to Libya, Iran, North Korea and others.

PSI, launched by President Bush in May 2003, was an outgrowth of the administration's effort to prevent weapons of mass destruction from reaching terrorists.

Its core participants include the governments of the United States, Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Thailand and Britain.
I admit I might have missed this story - but it does seem to be big news since the criticisms of the Bush administration failures(?) to do anything to stop North Korea and Iran's nuclear programs - seems Bush policies not only struck a blow but was supported by those countries that supposedly hate us. Christians Not Taking it Anymore

This story details Christians fighting back.. Some are concerned about this movement per say, or these type cases, I am not. I believe we as Christians have taken the term "meek" to heart for far too long and need to get angry about symbols of our faith and our freedom to demonstrate our faith being judicially removed. Does everyone know the history of the "fish" becoming a Christian symbol? The fish was born as a Christian symbol through secrecy; an alternative symbol that allowed believers to recognize each other without fear of persecution. I don't believe in a country founded on freedom of religion Christians should have to create a "new symbol" to avoid "Politically Correct persecutors" - and by the looks of things we aren't going to do it; instead we are going to take our "religious freedoms" and "symbols of our faith" back; it's about time! Bring it on ACLU!

*NOTE: "The latest FOX News poll finds that fully 87 percent of Americans say nativity scenes should be allowed on public property and only nine percent disagree." (Story here)

Rummy Bandwagon Update

I have already said that I think that Republicans are shucking some responsibility for bad news and defending their political position by jumping on the "get Rummy out bandwagon". Now we have Trent Lott on the same bandwagon... As I write I really do not know where I stand on the Rummy issue. I do not believe he has made major errors though errors he has made, which is expected, how he deals with errors is the important thing and I feel he has dealt well to date. My concern is that he is adding negativity for the troops and President while fueling the "anti War on Terror" crowd! So should he stay or should he go? Your thoughts!

UPDATE: GOP gives Rumsfeld mixed support

Armor Question - Follow-UP

(via Power Line)
I have already discussed the Armor Question, but it seems those pesky democrats, like and annoying yelping dog want let it go. The Senate Democrats demanded answers from Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld as to why U.S. soldiers lack armor for their vehicles. The onslaught of Rummy on this issue keyed from the "reporter planted questions" and of course the Senate Democrats are disregarding the December 15th DOD breifing. Briefing excerpts:
GEN. SPEAKES: Very, very good question. The first point is that you'll recollect that one of the questions was the status of the 278 ACR; in other words, the date that we had the visit by the secretary of Defense, we had a question about their up-armoring status. When the question was asked, 20 vehicles remained to be up-armored at that point. We completed those 20 vehicles in the next day. And so over 800 vehicles from the 278 ACR were up-armored, and they are a part now of their total force that is operating up in Iraq.

Q On the 278th, can you repeat this? At the time the question was asked, the planted question, the unit had 784 of its 804 vehicles armored?

GEN. SPEAKES: Here is the overall solution that you see. And what we've had to do is -- the theater had to take care of 830 total vehicles. So this shows you the calculus that was used. Up north in Iraq, they drew 119 up-armored humvees from what we call stay-behind equipment. That is equipment from a force that was already up there. We went ahead and applied 38 add-on armor kits to piece of equipment they deployed over on a ship. They also had down in Kuwait 214 stay- behind equipment pieces that were add-on armor kits. And then over here they had 459 pieces of equipment that were given level-three protection. And so when you put all this together, that comes up with 830.

Q At the time of the question -- summarize this, now -- that unit that the kid was complaining about was mostly armored?

GEN. SPEAKES: Yes. In other words, we completed all the armoring within 24 hours of the time the question was asked.

Q If he hadn't asked that question, would the up-armoring have been accomplished within 24 hours?

GEN. SPEAKES: Yes. This was already an existing program.
