...needs help? Didn't Michael Moore declare Cuba as the model healthcare system in his acclaimed movie? So, why do they need help? Maybe, just maybe, the good things in their healthcare system were good because they were given to them by...go figure!
AFP: Cuba calls for help obtaining swine flu vaccineHAVANA — Cuba called Monday on the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization to help it acquire doses of a vaccine against the A(H1N1) virus.
Forgetting defense or like other democrats kicking it to the side claiming the fight the "war on poverty" one that hasn't been made any advancements in 50 years - Guess now it is the "healthcare war".
...one question, if the "healthcare plan" will pay for it's self, as our president claimed, why the need to cut the military budget????
How to Dismantle a Military SuperpowerUltimately, severe modernization cuts could increase the likelihood that U.S. military capabilities will fall short of the nation's wide-ranging security commitments. Current budget plans indicate the United States may relinquish its military superpower status - not to another nation per se, but by reverting to a position where it lacks the capacity to engage and maintain a forward presence globally.

...and we have another possible prime-time event...this president wants more face time than Paris Hilton and may pass the last two administrations total "time on television" by the end of the year...
Oh and if you notice - The problem stems from "two republicans"; of course, if it is such a great deal they don't need any republicans, and they can have all the credit for themselves.
Obama Weighing Health Care Strategy Shift - Political News - FOXNews.comPresident Barack Obama, faced with falling approval ratings and increasingly impatient with Senate negotiations over health care, is weighing a shift in strategy that would offer more details of his goals for overhauling the nation's health care system.
The president is considering a speech in the next week or so in which he would be "more prescriptive" about what he feels Congress must include in a bill, top adviser David Axelrod said Tuesday in an interview. The speech might occur before the Sept. 15 deadline the White House gave to Senate negotiators to seek a bipartisan bill, Axelrod said. He suggested that two key Republicans have not bargained in good faith.
The famous
independent (democrat in reality) is telling Obama needs to slow down…hmm!
From NYT"I'm afraid we've got to think about putting a lot of that off until the economy's out of recession," Mr. Lieberman said on CNN's "State of the Union." "There's no reason we have to do it all now, but we do have to get started. And I think the place to start is cost health delivery reform and insurance market reforms."
This article checks several Whitehouse claims - I have just put one below, so if interested follow the link...
Fact CheckThe first claim is that “Medicare has controlled cost growth better than private-sector health plans.” The reality is that “when payments from all sources are considered, spending on Medicare beneficiaries is increasing faster than spending on the privately insured.” The amount Medicare spends per beneficiary is growing slowly, but Medicare is paying a shrinking share of its beneficiaries’ total health costs. The total amount spent on health care for individuals enrolled in Medicare is actually growing faster than the amount spent on individuals in private insurance.

REMEMBER, when democrats across the country, those in office and "common" citizens, were so out raged at the report the Government was "listening to our phone calls" - "Warrant-less Wiretaps"? Though exaggerated and proven both not to include domestic calls and be legal (by the court during the current administration), they screamed "big brother" and "privacy issues".
Well let's fast forward to ObamaCare - So am I to understand that though we don't want anyone hearing our conversations with Mom and Dad or the wife, that would be an infringement on our rights, but the government knowing everything about our medical history should be common practice? In fact, good that they want to care so much - RIDICULOUS!
ATTENTION "leftwing nuts" - I guess this new request, to turn in your friends and family for speaking out against the state is a good thing too...
White House Draws Fire for Requesting 'Fishy’ Information From Supporters on Health ReformThe White House is under fire for a blog post asking supporters to send "fishy" information received through rumors, chain e-mails and casual conversations to a White House e-mail address, flag@whitehouse.gov.
Oh my, I haven't even hit the "post button" yet and I believe I hear the "thought police" pulling in my driveway!
